About the Authors
Gerald and Deborah Hart Strober are the authors of oral histories of the Kennedy, Nixon, and Reagan presidencies and of oral biographies of Queen Elizabeth II, the Dalai Lama, Billy Graham, and Rudolph Giuliani. Their latest book, Israel at Sixty, was published in February 2008. The Strobers were consultants to several major Jewish organizations including the Jewish Agency for Israel, the World Zionist Organization, the National Conference on Soviet Jewry, and the Jewish National Fund. Deborah Strober performed professionally as a singer and was the cultural columnist for The New York Jewish Week.
Gerald Strober served on the national staff of the American Jewish Committee and is the author of American Jews: Community in Crisis. The Strobers live in Manhattan and in Herzliya-by-the-Sea, Israel.
